Each house destroyed or damaged due to the disaster situation will be compensated to a maximum ceiling of Rs 2.5. million by the government, Minister Rajitha Senarathne said today in Colombo.
The decision was taken by the government at a meeting on Disaster Management held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
He said that the government has also decided to remove illegal dwellers from the forest reserves and give alternative lands.
