The launching ceremony of the book titled “People of Sri Lanka” published by the Ministry of National Co-existence, Dialogue and Official Languages was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (18th July) at the BMICH.
The book, which contains details of 19 ethnic groups living in Sri Lanka as well as their cultures and customs, has been written under the guidance of the Minister of National Co-existence, Dialogue and Official Languages Mano Ganeshan.
The first copy of the book presented to the President by the Minister Mano Ganeshan.
During this ceremony President Sirisena presented a memento to the Ms. Una McCauley, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, and Leader of the Opposition R. Sampanthan were also present.
