President Maithripala Sirisena says the Present government has given priority for a development process which provides a better education for the children in the country as well as which strengthen the economy of the rural people while giving solutions for their issues of everyday life.
He made these remarks participating in a religious ceremony to unveil the pinnacle of the new chaithyaya at Aralaganwila Sri Jethavanarama Temple on August 05.
The strategy of the government is to give benefits of the development for all the citizens and to make prosper their economy, the President said that adding he will take steps to fulfill all the needs in the sectors of education, health as well as drinking water issue within the next 03 years, eradicating the unfairness take place in the process of development for the people in the Polonnaruwa district.
President Sirisena said that to build a better society, religious places including the temples in the village must take the lead as it was in the history as well as in the present and for the future too.
The President who visited the Aralaganwila Sri Jethavanarama Temple first engaged in the religious activities and later visited the Chief Incumbent of the temple Ven. Minneriye Subalankara Thero and inquired into the his well-being . The President also presented the puja bhumi deed of the Viharaya to the Subalankara Thero.
A na sapling was planted in the premises of the temple to mark the President’s visit to the temple.
The Chief Incumbent of Dimbulagala Aranya Senasana Ven. Villane Siriyalankara Thero, presided the religious ceremony while Member of Parliament Nalaka Kolonne and devotees were present at this occasion.
