President Maithripala Sirisena who visited Kandy yesterday to view the Esala Maha Perahera, paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic and secured blessings, yesterday (08).Later, the President visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya and inquired into the well-being of the Mahanayake of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero.
The President also visited the Mahanayake of the Asgiriya Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Mahanayake Thero and inquired into the well-being of him.
The President also engaged in a cordial conversation with the people who arrived in Kandy to view the historic Esala Maha Perahera.
