The seventh World Buddhist Summit - 2017 will be held in Sri Lanka from 2nd – 7th November.
The summit to be held at Temple Trees, Colombo will be participated by about 300 SanghaNayakas, monks, and laymen from over 47 countries.
The World Buddhist Supreme Conference of Japan conducts the summit this year under theme ‘Buddhism for World Peace’.
The Opening Ceremony of the summit will be participated by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on 2nd November while round table meetings are scheduled to be held on 3rd and 4th November. The closing ceremony will be held on 5th November. In addition, two study tours have also been organized to Anuradhapura and Kandy on 6th and 7th November respectively.
